Job Summary

Do you enjoy working in Southeast Alaska? We are seeking a qualified Redi Mix Truck Driver (with a CDL) that has a positive drive and team spirit! A dedication to hard work, accuracy, and safety are a top priority! . This position involves working at our job sites on Prince of Wales Island. Southeast Roadbuilders will provide training for Redi-Mix batching to the qualified CDL candidate. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Follows the instructions of their Manager / Foreman and applies safety guidelines linked to their activities 
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Comes prepared and carries out the work accurately and safely
  • Maintains vehicles and equipment: clearing and verification of vehicles before and after use, carries out standard upkeep (minor repairs) in observance of company guidelines and regulations. Notifies their Manager in the event of anomalies. 
  • Conduct pre and post trip DOT inspections on equipment and follow DOT FMCSA guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Completes daily paperwork as required
  • Batches Concrete and delivers product to customers all over Prince of Wales Island

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • MSHA Training preferred but not required
  • Certifications as required 
  • CPR and First Aid Certification desired but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Required to pass pre-employment drug screening as well as a PAT (Physical Ability Test) prior to starting work.
  • A valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record is required. We encourage candidates to pursue a Class A CDL and/or Hazmat endorsement after joining the company to broaden their capabilities and explore further opportunities.
  • Required to complete and pass a background screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to sit / stand / work on feet for long periods, walk on uneven terrain, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, see, and hear with frequent exposure to loud noise. Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift and move 50 pounds or greater
