Job Title: Security Guard
Location: Calypso - Erie Non-Exempt or
Exempt: Non-Exempt
Reports To: General Manager Department: GP
Summary of the Role:
Security Team Members support the GP Management Team in maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant
environment for all employees and authorized visitors. Key responsibilities include patrolling the
premises, monitoring access points, investigating suspicious activity, and enforcing company policies to
prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
Key Responsibilities:
● Monitor and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and alarm
systems.
● Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
● Investigate security breaches and other suspicious activities.
● Prepare incident reports and other documentation.
● Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate assistance.
● Monitor the security of personnel, property, and assets.
● Conduct safety drills and train personnel on safety protocols.
● Communicate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel.
● Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
● Minimum of a high school education or equivalent College degree, preferred.
● Prior experience in security, law enforcement or customer service.
● A high level of professionalism focusing on internal and external guest service.
● Excellent communication both verbally and nonverbally.
● Ability to manage high stress faced paced situations and to be flexible and adaptable when a
situation requires it.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
● Ability to work up to 12 hours a day and rotating shifts
● Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
● Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
● Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
● Ability to stand for extended periods of time
● Extended computer usage
● Comfortable being under constant video surveillance
● Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to fumes, dust, odors, heights,
indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
