Appen is hiring organized, outgoing team members to help run an exciting data collection project! An opportunity for a mix of event coordination, participant support, and light tech setup—perfect for recent grads or early-career professionals interested in people operations, HR, or tech research.
Responsibilities
• Act as the on-site host for participants: greet them, explain the session, guide setup, and make sure they understand quality requirements
• Handle sensitive participant data securely and accurately
• Enter participant info and session details into tracking systems
• Report updates to program and project managers regularly
• Moderate sessions live, ensuring participant engagement and session quality
• Use Calendly and email/phone follow-ups to confirm attendance and handle rescheduling
• Assist participants with basic troubleshooting
• Jump in to support the collection process when needed
• Provide a welcoming, professional presence as the face of Appen during the project
• Perform additional admin tasks, support participant scheduling, and document sessions
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Fluent in English
• Be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed (not a strict 9-5 schedule)
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Good technical/software skills e.g. Calendly, online scheduling platforms, MS Office, and comfortable with small troubleshooting
Qualifications and Experience
• Experience with interacting with members of the public (adults)
• Experience with managing your own time and schedule to meet project deadlines
• Comfortable working independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks
• Comfortable using tools like Calendly, Excel, MS Office, Windows, and willing to learn more
• Interest in data collection, user research, or HR operations
• Able to start within 2 weeks
• Recent grads or early-career candidates welcome!
Contract: 30–40 hours/week | ~6 weeks (through mid-July, likely extension)
Start Date: late May/early June
$20 - $25 an hour
